Shaping Europe’s Digital Sovereignty: ClaimSov’s Role in European Commission JRC Policy Briefs

ClaimSov is pleased to announce that ClaimSov member Julia Pohle will serve as the academic coordinator for the Joint Research Centre (JRC) of the European Commission on a new series of policy briefs on digital sovereignty. The JRC initiative aims to clarify the contested concept of “digital sovereignty,” to map its multiple dimensions, and to identify measures that can strengthen individual and societal self‑determination without unduly centralising control over digital infrastructures and technologies in the hands of states or political institutions.

Over the coming year Julia will coordinate academic input to the JRC workstream together with colleagues including Samuele Fratini, Sara Thabit Gonzalez, Diletta Di Marco and Anna Colom.
